Apple App Store redirecting ads
This fucking sucks, dude. can't do shit without being redirected to download some stupid app. Uber, draftkings, world of warcraft, who the fuck knows what else. every goddamn click.
We have not recently received reports of this problem, so we are closing this ticket.
Several members have reported that this problem has stopped for them. We’d like to hear from more of you. Has the problem stopped for you? Please post to the comments of this ticket.
Previous update: We pulled a major ad network from rotation this morning. If you’ve been experiencing the app store redirect issue consistently, please post to the comments of this ticket to let us know if the problem persists today.
Previous update: Members that have tried clearing cookie data from their mobile browsers report that this does NOT solve the problem. Other reports indicate that the problem happens only when accessing PT on a cellular connection and not when accessing PT on a wifi connection. If you can confirm or deny this theory, please post to the comments. We’d also appreciate information regarding your locale, as this may only be affecting a specific region of the country.
Previous update: If you are still experiencing this problem, please post in the comments. We are not experiencing the “app store” ads in our testing, but this is a highly individualized problem, so some of you may still be. Hearing from you, even if the ads have stopped, is helpful to our trouble shooting.
Previous update: We are doing our best to identify the source of these ads and stop them. We do not purposely show them. The ad networks we use do not allow them. But they sneak through occasionally and they are very difficult to track down. Ads are a necessity to keep this site operationally. It would be helpful to know the device and browser you’re using. You can post that info in the comments of this ticket.

If you’re dealing with redirecting ads on the Apple App Store, you might find the scarletappstore a useful alternative for accessing and managing apps. You can visit the site directly at https://scarletappstore.com/

It's interesting that this seems to effect Android and iPhone users the same.

Clearing cookies has no effect. Problem occurs when using cellular data but not when using wi-fi. Portland, Or.

Posting from Aurora, CO. iPhone 6S/AT&T. I turned off my wifi and used 4G, and the redirect ads started back up 30 seconds later. No Problems lately on my MacBook, or iPhone/iPad when using wifi.

For the record, it's clearly malicious redirect ads being sent over one of the ad networks you guys do business with. It's not an issue of cache or cookie clearance.

I concur that it only seems to happen on cellular and not wifi

As you suggested, I cleared all cookies, cache, and data from the stock Android app. The problem returned immediately.
This only happens over 4gLTE and not on Wi-Fi.

Someone on PT mentioned that this only seems to affect the site when being accessed via 4gLTE. On Wi-Fi everything seems to be fine. I can confirm that this has been my experience also.

This is rich. Apparently the website I'm bring redirected to...afftrack.com...has "reached it's resource limit." So when I try to pull up aPT thread, I go to afftrack.com where everything just stops.
How can every other website out there deal with this yet PT can't? I literally can't access the site on chrome or Android stock without this redirect happening.

I'm using Android GS5. Constant redirects happen on stock browser and Chrome. It's literally constant on every thread I open, and PT is the only website I visit regularly that is so affected.
That is where I just got redirected.
I'm just going to quit using PT. This issue has been brought up a lot and it's clearly side company called "mobvertising" that you all do business with. It doesn't make sense that every other website doesn't have these ads...except PT.

Wft pt. Break off all advertising! Then slowly allow advertisers back that don't do this! This may help pt narrow down the problem.
