What kind of therapist should I be looking for?
I'm in the midst of a divorce https://onlinedivorcer.com/online-divorce-washington-dc and at times feel like I need to talk to someone about it. In short, it's due to infidelity on my spouse's part. My company has an EAP and my insurance may also partially cover therapy.
I started to look up marriage and family therapy but maybe that's not what I should be looking for as the marriage isn't going to be saved. Should I just be looking for some sort of behavioral therapist?

Sorry you're going through this. Since the marriage isn't being saved, an individual therapist like an LPC, LCSW, or psychologist is a good choice—especially one who specializes in divorce, trauma, or infidelity. CBT or interpersonal therapy can help. Also, this link may be helpful: https://divorceor.com/derecho-de-familia-y-divorcio-en-nueva-jersey/ for legal insights in New Jersey.
